Headgear
The headgear should be worn exactly as explained by the doctor.
The headgear should be worn at least 14 hours every day. It is best to wear it as many continuous hours as possible. Wear it whenever you are in the house. Wear it while doing homework, reading, watching television, working on the computer, listening to music, sleeping, etc. Do not wear it while eating.
Keep a daily scorecard to determine how many hours it is worn each day. Bring the score card to each orthodontic appointment. The headgear cannot be worn too much. Remember, the more your headgear is worn the better and faster will be the result.
Do not attempt to adjust the headgear yourself. Bring the entire headgear to the office for each appointment.
If it is necessary for you to use rubber bands with your headgear, make sure you always have a supply on hand.
